Quiet Your Mind...

One week....that's all the time I have left to get everything together, to pack up anything and everything we might need for our summer in Atlanta! Heaven help me!

As many of you know, the boys and I are spending the summer in Atlanta so that Aidan can attend the Brain Balance Program. We have been working with Brain Balance since September, and have seen great improvements across the board for Aidan. We have all worked SO hard and Aidan has made a tremendous amount of progress, but we still have a long way to go. Andy and I are thoroughly convinced that this program is THE answer for Aidan, and we can't wait to get started.

I wanted to document our journey with Brain Balance, and had originally planned to journal the experience. I also wanted to figure out a way to keep our friends and family updated on Aidan's progress. This blog seemed like the best way to do both. I'm very new to the idea of blogging, so please bear with me - I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon enough! You can subscribe by email or create a free google id and be a "follower" that way. Then, (I think) you will get an email whenever I make a new blog post. We hope you will check in on us from time to time - please feel free to leave us a comment or just say 'hi' when you stop by.

Finally, this first blog post would not be complete without a few heartfelt words of gratitude. We are extremely grateful to the members of the Zac Brown Band for promoting this amazing, non-medical program at their concerts. We may never have heard about Brain Balance, if not for them. My grandparents, Gloria and Ben Jones, have very generously offered us the use of their condo for our stay in Atlanta, and we are so very thankful. To our parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family and friends - we are so very lucky to have so many people loving us, supporting us, and encouraging us along the way. And finally, to my mother-in-law, Jackie Pence. We love and miss you every day - thank you for making Brain Balance a reality for Aidan. This blog and Aidan's journey of healing with Brain Balance will be in your honor.

In closing, I leave you with a few words of wisdom, courtesy of the Zac Brown Band. It's sort of my mantra, these day!

"Quiet your mind. Soak it all in, it's a game you can't win. ENJOY THE RIDE!"

Until next time,

Allie
